All That You Change

Danya Zhao,  Huazhao Festival

Huazhao Festival is an eight-minute immersive 3D video work inspired by the traditional Chinese flower festival. It constructs a digital ritual space where the audience moves through a symbolic journey from the human world into a spiritual realm. Beginning in a sea of flowers, the video guides viewers through forests, bridges and a lantern-lit ritual space, before arriving at a sacred peach blossom tree and the figure of a flower deity.

Through spatial transitions, lighting changes and continuous camera movement, the work explores the relationship between nature, mythology and ritual. The digital environment creates a dreamlike and contemplative atmosphere, inviting the audience to experience Huazhao Festival as both a cultural celebration and a passage between memory, imagination and divinity.

Danya Zhao is a BA Media student whose practice focuses on immersive 3D environments, cultural memory and symbolic visual spaces. Her work reimagines traditional Chinese festivals and mythology through digital space, atmosphere and moving image.
