You and I are Earth:

Hebah Khan, The Other Me

VR music video

My artifact for this project is a 4-minute psychological music video designed for immersive viewing in a VR headset. The video will explore themes of isolation, memory, and the subconscious, using simple yet striking visual ideas to create an unsettling and introspective experience. Drawing inspiration from auteur-driven music videos and experimental cinema, the piece will employ surreal imagery, fragmented narratives, and atmospheric sound design to evoke a sense of unease and emotional depth.
The visual language will be defined by stark lighting, minimal yet symbolic props, and disorienting camera techniques that will enhance the psychological intensity. Distorted reflections, looping sequences, and sudden shifts in perspective will be used to create a haunting, dreamlike quality. The immersive nature of VR will heighten the audience’s engagement, making them feel trapped within the psychological space of the video.
By showcasing the music video in a VR environment, the project seeks to push the boundaries of music video storytelling, transforming it from a passive viewing experience into an interactive, profoundly personal encounter. This artifact will not only serve as a creative exploration of auteur techniques but also as a means for me to experiment with my artistic style and its potential for emotional impact.
